Hair loss in perimenopause and menopause

Perimenopause Hair Loss,perimenopause cause or Perimenopause occurs when the body's hormone levels fluctuate wildly as it prepares for menopause when the body slowly ceases making several hormones.

Once it's in this state, blood flow slows to non-mandatory areas to provide blood to the areas for flight or fight. Since people aren't known to use their hair as a weapon, or at least the body doesn't recognize this, the blood to the scalp slows and doesn't feed the root of the hair. The hair is in resting phase and when the old hair falls out, the new growth doesn't occur. You then notice it thinning. You might not notice the difference for up to three months, but after that it seems to fall out more every day.

Dry skin also occurs during that period of time. It happens for the same reason as the other symptoms, the lowered amount of reproductive hormones but also can be attributed to lowered collagen production. This is a time where any deficiency in essential fatty acids or nutrients shows up dramatically in the skin.

Prevention and Treatment for hair loss during perimenopause

While hormone replacement therapy is under attack, a good nutritional program is always helpful during the time of perimenopause hair loss. Select whole foods that contain all the natural supplements necessary. Cut back on sugar and sugary products. Nutritional supplements also help relieve some of the symptoms like sleeplessness.
