For instance, mayonnaise is an excellent remedy for dry hair. You simply slather it onto your hair, mix onto all the strands and cover your hair with a plastic cap or bag for a half hour while it works its magic.

When the time is done, remove the cap and wash thoroughly followed by a thorough rinse. The egg and fats in the mayonnaise gives extra oils to the hair strands. Some believe that if you dampen your hair first and then leave the mayonnaise on all night it works better. They are wrong. The water saturates the hair shaft and doesn't allow the oil and nutrients in the mayo to be absorbed as well. This is a far quicker method that doesn't leave a stain on your pillow.
