There are many different benefits of niacin.Niacin are vitamin B3, nicotinamide, niacinamide, and nicotinic acid. Although, nicotinamid (niacinamide) and nicotinic acid are different forms, they are both considered niacin.

Pellegra tends to occur in third world countries where there is a scarcity of food, but it can occur in the U. S. under certain conditions. Alcoholics and others with a poor diet, for instance, may develop pellagra. Certain tumors, hyperthyroidism, diabetes, Harnup disease, cirrhosis of the liver, breast feeding and pregnancy can also cause pellagra.

Niacin may be good for treating several different diseases. It may aid in treating and preventing the potential of a migraine, motion sickness, cataracts, Meniere's disease, Alzheimer's disease, osteoarthritis and diabetes. In addition, niacin can reduce peripheral artery disease and prevent fluid loss due to diarrhea caused by cholera.

Niacin is also beneficial for those with mental disorders such as depression, schizophrenia and ADHD if used in combination with other nutrients. It also promotes relaxation.
